Arlene Foster’s resignation as leader and First Minister precipitated a period of instability for the DUP, as it labours to maintain its credibility and position as the region’s largest political party. After Edwin Poots’s brief incumbency, Jeffrey Donaldson MP will be confirmed as the party’s new leader when its electoral college meets on Saturday 26 June.
